One the aspects I have always liked about the FTR Transportation Conference, which I have missed just once since 2010, is that it is chock-full of content and doesn't dedicate big blocks of time to a vendor exhibition – a rarity for industry events. Still, the conference has plenty of time for networking, including ample breaks during the day, social events each night (more on that tomorrow), and one of my favorite traditions, which is the Indy Canal Walk/Run.For early-ish risers (it used to be even earlier in the morning), the walk-run is a great way to combine networking with exercise. It's a win-win. And it's as taxing on your body and heart as you want it to be. Runners can run, and walkers can walk. If you prefer to stroll, that's fine, too.
