As our Broadcast Tech Support Specialist, you will install, maintain, and operate all broadcast facility equipment, perform regular software and hardware updates, and manage post-production edit stations, control rooms, digital archive storage systems, and game operations.

We’re looking for someone with experience in maintaining and operating broadcast equipment, performing software and hardware updates, and troubleshooting technical issues in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will excel in collaborating with cross-functional teams and staying current with broadcast technology trends. If this sounds like you, apply by July 31, 2024!


DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Support live productions and post-production within the broadcast facility (post-up), radio, television, game ops, and streaming. Duties would also extend to Moda Center clients (per request) productions.
  • Install and maintain new equipment for Blazer Broadcasting
  • Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting while executing changes and engineering updates to the broadcast facility.
  • Track and report on equipment and system repair and maintenance status. Follow through on repairs, inventory needs, and updates.
  • Assist the Broadcast Technical Manager with short and long-term projects and help provide maintenance of equipment and gameday set up.
  • Game day specific duties would include, Mobile Unit interface, HSAN feeds, remote source and destination interfacing, visitor broadcast feeds (radio & TV) freelance crew interface for equipment needs and maintenance of computers and software. Provide on-site operator/crew service and technical support.
  • Coordinate TV mobile facilities and crew with external vendors for all road broadcasts and work with the Finance team on invoice tracking and management.
  • Communicate new or used equipment orders, estimates, budget & invoice tracking. Actively research and communicate potential new technologies and vendors within the industry.
  • Keeps track of all purchase’s software, plugins, computers and hardware as well as serial numbers and purchase codes in Post Up. Works directly with manufactures or vendors to troubleshoot problems.
  • Oversees all the computers, monitors, software and other gear used in the editing rooms in the broadcast facility. This includes licensing software, calibrating monitors, managing system hardware and keeping up with necessary updates.
  • Provide software updates to the computers in the broadcast facility.
  • Support and troubleshoots computers when specific situations are requested such as mobile podcasts, live streaming systems.
  • Oversees the storage system and the backup processes for archiving game airchecks, radio broadcasts, raw footage and projects.
  • Help support the IPTV/Digital Access Specialist with digital signage computers and system. Troubleshoots and fixes problems associate with the digital signage network.
  • Coordinates with the building production department when LED or big screen content is needed on non-event days.
  • Demonstrate commitment to developing a diverse and inclusive environment.

  • Knowledge of systems including Ross Switchers, RTS, Riedel and Clear-Com intercom systems, Harris routers, Ross Video Switchers, EVS Replay systems, IP Director, Wheatstone Audio, Vizrt Graphics, Sony Cameras, Tieline, Dante Audio, TSI Tally interface, Envivo Graphics, Calrec Summa Audio, and streaming servers.
  • Ability to solder and repair audio and video cables.
  • Familiarity with basic computing equipment and software typical in a modern office environment.
  • Knowledge of Windows OS, MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong understanding of file formats, video codecs, digital resolutions, broadcast transmission systems, and other technical standards used in the broadcast industry.
  • Excellent communication skills for providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
  • A proven ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive or proprietary information, exercising discretion at all times.
